Graal is a type of decorative glass developed by Simon Gate at Orrefors of Sweden in 1916. The design is carved on a colored glass starter bubble, which is then reheated and cased in a thick layer of transparent glass of a different color, and inflated. Making art glass in this technique spans days - usually a week or two.
