AO Glass is one of the leading U.S. manufacturer of handmade glass design and lighting components. The combination of an in-depth experience with glass as a material, and a unique mindset on what a modern craft business can be, has shaped an unprecedented ability to create orders in small as well as large numbers.
Our unique size enables us to provide clients with a large manufacturing capacity coupled with outstanding design and quality attentiveness. We have broad experience using free-blown, mold-blown, casting, pressing and mold-injection techniques. This allows us to produce anything from lighting components and architectural elements, to drink and tableware.
AO Glass provides a complete solution, collaborating with you from idea to delivery. Our design and development team drives an efficient process, with everything produced in-house. We’re a locally owned and operated family business.
Decoding the Tree of Life - by Maya Lin 2021
AO Glass is proud to announce the completion of Maya Lin’s “Decoding the Tree of Life” in the new UPenn Medical center in Philadelphia. Contracted by UAP, an international art fabrication company, and with guidance from Keer Foundries, AO Glass provided over 15,500 hand-blown glass spheres that wrap around a 38 foot high metal armature in the hospital’s main atrium, reflecting the sunlight that streams across Penn Medicine’s new Pavilion.
As patients and visitors enter the Pavilion, they’re greeted with Lin’s incredible artwork, which conveys a sense of peace and healing.
Rich Arentzen, Co Owner of AO Glass said, “It was a true honor to participate in creating a monumental artwork from one of the world’s most visionary sculptors.”
